Just a note here....I need some encouragement.. I have been on my diet ever since November, and with Thanksgiving and Christmas, I dicided to really get serious again in January, and the scales are not moving, it's getting me frustrated, last week I walked twice, all around the neighborhood, and plus worked out on my glider one night.... I don't understand what the problem is. ( OK I KNOW WHAT YOUR THINKING ) YOUR THINKING HAVE I BEEN DRINKING MY WATER. WELL, SOME, BUT usually when I do weight watchers I do it the same way and I still lose. should I get something to help boost my weight loss? is it my age? or what, I just don't know....please ladies give me some of your ideas to help boost my weight loss I am about to do low carb if this keeps up I know I can lose on low carb. very sad right now.

Hey girl don't give up! You may just need to keep a food diary for a few days. If your doing WW you should be writing down everything. Write it all down and then go back and count points. Maybe your settling into points so much that your no longer counting your food points right or maybe your portion sizes are too big. Break out your WW books and start measuring and looking up all the points for the food.
I bet you have just got into some bad counting habits and you need to go back to day 1.
Also you may be eating the same foods over and over and your body is getting used to it so it's not loosing. I would say, shake things up, change things a bit and see how your body reacts.
One more thing, there is a chance if your trying really hard to loose that your not getting enough food and your body is storing. That couldn be a reason for not loosing.
Remember, low carb isn't a diet for a life time, it's a short time fix and 95% of people who loose with low carb eventually gain it back. WW is a way of eating for a life time. Work the plan and it will work for you!

Thank you so much sis tori....I am counting all my points well the book says to eat atleast 30 to 31 points a day thats pretty much what I'm doing....although I can feel myself kinda losing but the scales are not going down I tend to pay attention to the scales to much I have already weighed this morning and from yesterday they have went down almost 1 oh well I am going to keep trying and fighting this thing thanks or praying for me I really appreciate it.

I really appreciate your prayers and thank you so much for praying for matt and kristen as far as I know things have'nt changed for them but I don't know what God is doing in matts heart although kristen is still praying and reading her Bible everyday.

Sis. Marsheila....I thought you were doing better with water and such. I guess I lied in the meeting yesterday. Sis. Karen said you were discouraged and I said I had heard from you and that you were doing better. Maybe that was a figment of my imagination. Don't give up on the WW plan. It is the only plan that works for the long-haul. I have tried everything else and nothing else works like WW. I don't always notice on the scales that I'm losing as much as I think I have by the way my clothes fit. I got more by the way my clothes fit than that dumb scale. You need to stay off the scale during the week and only weigh in on the scale at the meeting. If you weigh every day you will get discouraged. I know I have before. Just do what you are supposed to do....exercise, drink your water, count your points and PRAY...PRAY...PRAY!! Those are the things that are going to work for you. I love you and am praying for you!!

I guess I'm the odd one out here... I don't do WW, so no help with that side of it. Don't get discouraged though; I'm sure if you stick to eating properly and exercising you will see results soon.
Thank you Sis Julie for the encouragement and you did'nt lie in the meeting yes I was doing good until Larry let my water jug fall out of the refrigator and cracked I had to throw it away :(
but I did find a 1/2 gal. milk jug I am using just for the time being anyway Thank you for praying for me I stepped on the scales and it said I have lost so I am hoping there right with the ones at church lol and I will try not to step on the scales .

Thanks for the encouragement I know God is gonna let me lose this weight and get healthy but I have to work at it too alone with prayers.

Hi Marsheila! Hang in there. I think it is just a bit harder for those of us over 40. It takes longer but it's still doable.....and still VERY worth it! Ramping up the exercise to 30 min. a day (even if you do it in 10 minute bursts) should help somewhat. Tori's suggestions were what really worked for me (don't even have a half teaspoon of ANYTHING without counting it. Also, I noticed I would get into a slump when I ate the same things every day. I used to eat the exact same thing for breakfast and lunch every day and do the exact same exercises. After a while, that didn't work anymore. I changed up both routines a bit and got out of the rut.
I'm with Julie....WW is the ONLY plan that has worked for me long-term. I lost on Atkins Low Carb but gained it all back immediately. I did the Suzanne Somers thing and that was too cumbersome. South Beach I didn't lose on....and there were others that didn't work.
This will be the year and you will be able to lose. If you're taking in less calories than you burn, it'll happen as long as you're not starving yourself and eating tons of salt.
There's definitely no substitute for prayer when it comes to conquering the temptation aspect of this.
I'm confident that we'll all be a whole lot thinner by year's end....with all this accountability we've got going here!
Thank you Sis Karen for the kind words of encouragement I know ww is the only way to lose alone with prayer I do have some good new's I stepped on the scales this morning and I have lost another three pounds I am almost out of the 40's with my weight soon I will be in the 30's I will be so happy I will feel like I have accomplished something. thanks again.
